BOB ALLEN WESTERNS (3)
- Anxious to replace their recently departed cowboy star Ken Maynard, Columbia planted Allen into Maynard's boots-and his familiar costume. Allen starred in six B westerns in 1936 and "37, all of which had the word "Ranger" in the title.

BOB LIVINGSTON WESTERNS (6)
- He was the star in the popular Three Mesquiteers' films, he starred in his own western series and starred in Republic's first color film. He also played THE LONE RANGER in a popular weekly movie serial.

BOB STEELE WESTERNS (8)
- A star from 1927 onward, Steele gained popularity in several B-Westerns. Steele's character was forever searching for the murderer of his father (perhaps significantly, many of Steele's starring vehicles were scripted by his real-life dad).

BUSTER CRABBE WESTERNS (8)
- His role as Tarzan in a 1933 movie serial was the beginning of a long career that lead to over 100 movies. In the 1940's Larry "Buster" Crabbe began a series of westerns that proved to be as popular as any western hero.

CHARLES STARRETT WESTERNS (7)
- Best known as THE DURANGO KID, Starrett also stared in this western series with many western stars including Russell Hayden and Jimmy Wakely. There are even a couple of Durango Kid movies not featured in our Kid offering.

DON "RED" BARRY WESTERNS (9)
- He got his nickname "Red" after appearing as the first Red Ryder in the highly successful 1940 Red Ryder film Adventures of Red Ryder. Many of his westerns were credited with better then normal production values.

- Eddie Dean made his name as a country-western singer on radio in the '30s. He journeyed to Hollywood to make it in western movies. His career started to take off in the early 1940s and by 1945 he was among the more popular of the cowboy stars.

Singer/actor Fred Scott started out entertaining on vaudeville, acting on Broadway, and singing operetta. He later appeared in many silent comedies, including those of Mack Sennett.Between the late '30s and early '40s, Scott played a cowboy crooner known as "the Silvery-Voiced Buckaroo".
