An absolute must for Betty White fans. Date with the Angels is an American sitcom that aired on ABC from May 10, 1957 to January 29, 1958. The series, which starred Betty White and Bill Williams, began as a late season replacement for The Ray Anthony Show for the same sponsor, Chrysler's Plymouth division. Tom Kennedy was the show's announcer and spokesman for Plymouth.
The series revolved around newly married Vicki Angel and her insurance saleman husband Gus Angel who get themselves and their friends and neighbors into various comedic situations. Besides Betty White and Bill Williams, the series also featured for several episodes Richard Deacon, who is better known as the fictional television producer Mel Cooley on The Dick Van Dyke Show, Richard Reeves, Maudie Prickett and Burt Mustin.
Among the series' guest stars were Nancy Kulp, who would later play Miss Jane Hathaway on The Beverly Hillbillies, Madge Blake, who would later play Aunt Harriet Cooper in the Batman TV series, Joan Vohs, who played Miss Cummings on Family Affair, Chuck Connors, who is better known as Lucas McCain of The Rifleman, Reta Shaw, who is better known as housekeeper Hope Lange from The Ghost & Mrs. Muir, Dave Willock, Sid Melton, Russell Hicks, Hugh O'Brian, who played Wyatt Earp in the TV series The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp, Hanley Stafford (who was originally "Daddy" to Fanny Brice's "Baby Snooks" on radio), and Williard Waterman (radio's The Great Gildersleeve).
This set contains the original 1957 PLYMOUTH commercials. Qualityfor this 21 episode set is between 7.5 and 8 which is good for a set of this rare nature.
