50’S CLASSIC TV VOL. 4 - SID CAESAR, BOB CUMMING, JIMMY DURANTE

50’S CLASSIC TV VOL. 4 - SID CAESAR, BOB CUMMING,  JIMMY DURANTE

Here are three hour long classic TV shows from the 1950 starring three of early televisions super stars.

EPISODE TITLES:

CAESAR’S HOUR - This October 11, 1954 broadcast also features Peggy Lee along with regulars Carl Reiner & Howard Morris.  Caesar's Hour is a live, hour-long American sketch comedy television program that aired on NBC from 1954 until 1957. Widely considered a continuation of Caesar's earlier program, Your Show of Shows, Caesar's Hour included most of the same writers and actors.  As with Your Show of Shows, most of the original kinescopes of Caesar's Hour were destroyed by NBC, so few episodes remain making this a very rare find.

THE CHEVY SHOW -  This broadcast from December 6, 1955 starred Bob Cummings along with a great guest line up to include Ethel Merman, Shirley MacLaine, Tennessee Ernie Ford and Jonathan Winters.  Again, only a handful of these great variety shows still exist.   This includes the original Chevy commercials from 1955.

JIMMY DURANTE GIVE MY REGARDS TO BROADWAY - Jimmy Durante and his guests, Jane Powell, Jimmie Rodgers, Eddie Hodges and Ray Bolger pay tribute to fifty years of Broadway, including songs from early George M. Cohan musicals to the latest showstoppers such as 'You Gotta Have Heart' from "Damn Yankees" and 'I Could Have Danced All Night' from "My Fair Lady". Featured numbers include Jane Powell demonstrating her dancing skills, performing an inspiring duet with recording star Jimmie Rodgers of "It Was Mary" and displaying her talent working a player piano. Ray Bolger demonstrates his prodigious skills as a drummer.Jimmy sings "That's Entertainment" and his now signature version of "Young At Heart"
