A salute to the 100th anniversary of the telephone, with highlights from past Bell television programs.  This great musical special featured Bing Crosby and Liza Minnelli as hosts with guest stars Roy Clark, Steve Lawrence, Edie Gorme, Ben Vereen.  In this special broadcast from March 26, 1976 you will see some of the greatest names in entertainment as they appeared on the Bell Telephone Hour  broadcasts.  

The TV show, seen on NBC from January 12, 1959 to the spring of 1968, was one of the first TV series to be telecast exclusively in color, using the color TV system perfected by RCA in 1954. It aired every week on Friday evenings at 10:00 PM.  90 minutes of great music and fun.

BONUS:  JULIE ANDREWS INVITATION TO THE DANCE


Featuring Rudolph Nureyev this lively dance special from November 30, 1980 is part of the CBS FESTIVAL OF LIVLEY ARTS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE but the music and dancing is for anyone of any age.   Also featured is Ann Reinking this show has been widely acclaimed for it’s marvelous dancing.
