BUSTER CRABBE WESTERNS #3

SET #3

OATH OF VENGEANCE

Larry "Buster" Crabbe, as Billy Carson, and his sidekick Fuzzy (Al St. John) decide to turn in their spurs and instead operate a general store. But owning a shop in the wild and woolly West can be hazardous, as our heroes discover when they land in the middle of a range war between a group of cattle ranchers led by pretty Dale Kirby and the local homesteaders. In reality, the ranchers have been misled by crooked money lender Steve Kinney (Jack Ingram) and his vile henchman Mort (Charles King), who are hoping to gain control of the range.

DESERT GOLD

Though most of the storyline is taken up the romance between young pioneers Dick Gale (Tom Keene) and Jane Belding (Marsha Hunt), the most compelling character is young Indian chief Maya, played by Buster Crabbe. Faithfully guarding the gold deposits which rightfully belong to his people, Maya finds his hands full fending off the villainous incursions of claim-jumping Chetley Kasedon (Monte Blue) and his gang. Featured among the supporting cast are Robert Cummings as an eastern tenderfoot, and Glenn (later Leif) Erikson as Kasedon's brother

GUN BROTHERS

Gun Brothers is a rehash of the "Cain and Abel" motif that has been popular amongst screenwriters since time immemorial. Buster Crabbe and Neville Brand star as brothers Chad and Jubal. While Chad remains on the straight-and-narrow and becomes a rancher, Jubal opts for the life of an outlaw. The siblings manage to keep peace in the family until a jealous Indian maiden (Lita Milan) tells Jubal that Chad has turned stool pigeon. Only a cathartic last-reel burst of violence convinces Jubal that his brother hasn't betrayed him to the authorities. then, of course, it is too late. Ann Robinson, leading lady of such early-1950s esoterica
