FOR THE PEOPLE

Starring William Shatner

CBS at Sunday 9:00 PM (60 min.)
January 31, 1965 thru May 8, 1965

William Shatner was dynamite in his first series role as  David Koster, a New York City assistant district attorney who gets into trouble because of his passion for justice. His boss, Anthony Celese played by Howard DeSilva, tries to keep him under control while New York police detective Frank Malloy (Lonny Chapman) helps him solve cases. Sexy Jessica Walter was his leggy, musician wife.

The episodes generally followed Shatner trying to build his case rather than prosecuting the case in court. The show had a gritty New York ambience, a realistic tone, terrific New York actors, and good scripts. This show was certainly a precursor to the mighty "Law and Order".   The show only lasted 13 weeks and is one of those impossible to find series.  We are delighted to offer 7 of those long lost shows.  These episodes come from 16 MM prints and a couple even have the original network commercials.   These 60 minute episodes average an 8 (good) quality
