JONATHAN WINTERS and DOM DE LUISE SHOWS

THE DOM DE LUISE SHOW

In 1968  stand up comedian Dom De Luise hosted this hour long TV show as a summer replacement for THE JACKIE GLEASON SHOW.   Like the Gleason show, this show was broadcast from the “Sun and Fun Capital of the World - Miami Beach, Florida”.    With his trademark heavyset figure and attitude of manic glee, the genial Dom DeLuise rose to prominence as one of America's most beloved comedic character actors.  This rare show from June, 1968 gives us a good example of the kind of wild humor represented in this show lived summer series.  De Luise went on to host his own weekly show in 1987

THE JONATHAN WINTERS SHOW

“Pound for pound, Jonathan Winters is the funniest man on earth." These words, spoken by talk show host Jack Paar in the early '60s, were not chosen lightly.  Robin Williams and many other comedians likewise attribute Winters for inspiration for their careers.  From 1967 to 1969 Winters starred in a wild and very funny TV series of his own.  From December 27, 1967 we have located a rare look at that humor and joining the unpredictable Mr Winters is Red Skelton, Barbara Eden, Abby Dalton and a rare TV appearance by THE DOORS.
