THE STEVE ALLEN SHOW - VOLUME 1

The Steve Allen Show is an American variety show hosted by Steve Allen from June 1956 to June 1960 on NBC. The show launched the careers of cast members Don Knotts, Tom Poston, Louis Nye, Pat Harrington, Jr. and Bill Dana. The show's most popular sketch was the "Man on the street" which featured Knotts as the nervous Mr. Morrison, Poston as the man who could not remember his own name, and Nye as the smug Gordon Hathaway.  Hathaway's greeting of "Hi Ho Steverino!" became a catchphrase.

This great set of 15 half hours features some of the best moments from this series with some of the top names in show business.  From Abbott and Costello to Milton Berle, from Gene Autry in some clever comedy moments to laughs with Johnny Carson, this is a great trip down memory lane and the golden age of television.

The quality of this set is generally excellent - average 8 or better - and included as a 1980’s full complete STEVE ALLEN COMEDY HOUR in color shown exactly as originally seen on it’s original broadcast on December 16, 1980 complete with the original vintage commercials and network promos.
